Acclaimed illustrator speaks at the Tucson Festival of Books about her art for Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden’s children’s book, Astronaut Al Voyages to the Moon

Tucson, AZ, February 26, 2022 –(PR.com)– Illustrator Michelle Rouch is set to speak at the 2022 Tucson Book Festival at the Independent Authors Pavilion––Children’s Books on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Rouch will share how she painterly illuminated astronaut Al Worden’s poetic words from Apollo 15 in the children’s book, Astronaut Al Voyages to the Moon (for more information, visit https://tucsonfestivalofbooks. org/?id=369).

Rouch will also appear throughout the festival at the Bookpress Publishing booth (#136) signing books and offering live interactive art exercises suitable for children.

‘Astronaut Al Trips to the Moon’ received the Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievement from the Mom’s Choice Awards and also won first place among hundreds of entries at the Purple Dragonfly Awards for Best Children’s Picture Book historical nonfiction.

The 2022 Tucson Book Festival, first established in 2009, will be held in person on the University of Arizona campus from March 12-13, 2022. All proceeds acquired by the Book Festival are donated to local nonprofit organizations to improve literacy in southern Arizona.
