Disney+ releases trailer, key art and stills for ‘Hollywood Stargirl’


Disney+ has released the trailer, key art, and a range of stills for hollywood star girlwhich will debut on the streaming service on June 3.

The trailer, which you can check out below, features the main character as she moves to California, where she meets hit wonder Roxanne Martel, played by Uma Thurman.

hollywood star girl is a sequel to the 2020 Disney+ movie Daughter of the Stars. The first film was a sweet coming-of-age story about free-spirited Stargirl Caraway, played by musician Grace VanderWaal, a silver-voiced teenager whose simple acts of kindness work magic in the lives of others. .

The official Disney synopsis says:

“The sequel follows Stargirl’s journey out of Mica, Arizona, and into a larger world of music, dreams, and possibility. When her mother Ana, played by Judy Greer (Two and a half men, arrested development), is hired as a costume designer on a film, they move to Los Angeles, where Stargirl quickly becomes involved with an eclectic assortment of characters. They include budding filmmaker brothers Evan (Elijah Richardson, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, New Amsterdam), and Terrell (Tyrel Jackson Williams, Brockmire, Lab rats); Mr. Mitchell (Judd Hirsch, The Goldbergs, Big mouthlisten), one of Stargirl’s neighbors; and Roxanne Martel (Uma Thurman, Kill Bill, pulp Fiction), a musician Stargirl admires and meets on her journey.

Returning as Stargirl, VanderWaal performs the original song, “Figure It Out”, which she wrote for the film. Julia Hart returns to direct. Hart and Jordan Horowitz wrote the original screenplay, based on the original character from Jerry Spinelli’s bestselling Stargirl. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (The maze Runner trilogy), Lee Stollman (All together now) and Jordan Horowitz (The Earth) are producing, with Kristin Hahn, Nathan Kelly and Jerry Spinelli serving as executive producers.
