UU tag: “Sliding Doors and the Lives We Haven’t Lived” Have you ever noticed that all the stories of our lives that we rewrite tend to have happier, sometimes even mythical, endings? What’s the appeal of imagining making the glory again? As we approach a year of pandemic reality (and colliding with DST and the Ides of March, to boot), we’ll explore how the very modern preoccupation with imagining alternate selves can fuel fantasy and escape, but also a source of regret and despair. We will ask, “How can we reckon with and make peace with the lives we have led and are now living without looking into a murky crystal ball ‘what if’?” Reverend Robin Landerman Zucker, preaching, with worship associate Pia Driessen-Knittle. We will hear our Beacon choir, conducted by Jason Drahos, and piano pieces by Austin Shaw.
