Newsmax accuses Fox News of “waking up” and “pushing agenda on climate change”

Attention-seeking network Newsmax on Monday blasted conservative news giant Fox News for abandoning Trump supporters by “waking up”, pushing a “climate change agenda” and being too nice to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

For nearly a year now, Newsmax has been actively wooing MAGA viewers by portraying Fox News as overly critical of former President Donald Trump. And although Newsmax made audience gains after disgruntled Trump fans abandoned Fox over his specific call for the 2020 election, it still attracts only a small fraction of Fox News’ massive audience. .

The small pro-Trump outlet, for its part, has continued its mission of blasting Fox News viewers off whenever it sees an opportunity. Although this has become more difficult as Fox has increased its conservative opinion programming in recent months, Newsmax does not appear to be disheartened.

Starting with its Monday morning programming, Newsmax devoted at least one segment of each of its shows criticizing Fox News for “facing more backlash following a series of recent controversies.”

The alleged controversies involved Fox News anchor Chris Wallace – long a favorite media target of Trump and MAGA – dubbing Psaki “one of the best press secretaries of all time”; Fox launching a new weather service that executives have promised will cover climate change; Trump gets angry with Fox News for running “anti-Trump ads”; and Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto urging viewers to get the shot.

In a news clip that aired several times in the morning and afternoon, Newsmax correspondent Mike Carter noted that Fox News “often says it presents a variety of perspectives” before comparing Wallace’s remarks on Psaki with Fox News star Tucker Carlson describing the press secretary as a “grumpy little flack.”

“So who is this – the best ever or the cranky little flack?” Carter asked sarcastically.

Regarding the Fox Weather launch, Carter noted that “far-left NPR happily reported” that Fox News owners “recognize climate change at the corporate level” while a graphic at the on the air yelled, “Fox News is rolling out new weather channel to move the climate change agenda forward.

Carter also referred to a recent Trump statement in which the ex-president lambasted Fox News for running a critical ad against him. The ad that angered Trump was created by progressive PAC MeidasTouch, who bought the ad space through a local cable news provider. It was not broadcast nationally and the group did not go through Fox News ad sales.

The correspondent then added that “Trump was already unhappy” that Fox’s decision-making office is bringing back Arnon Mishkin, the analyst who angered the Trump team about his early and correct election projection that Joe Biden won. Arizona. (This wasn’t the first time Newsmax or Trump complained about Fox’s retention of Mishkin.)

“This makes the Conservatives wonder if Fox is making a permanent left turn,” the Newsmax reporter concluded.

The network also hosted several roundtables in its programming on the claim that Fox News was running too left.

“What do you think Fox is up to? Is it just a coincidence that you’ve got a lot of people and they’re going to say different things, or do you think there’s some sort of guiding idea behind it? Newsmax presenter Bob Sellers asked conservative expert Melanie Collette at one point.

“I think they are moving to the left,” Collette replied. “I think the people who are going to inherit Fox News are bound and determined to move Fox to the left. I think this is a big mistake on their part, but I think it creates a huge market opening for Newsmax!

Newsmax host Eric Bolling, who spent nearly a decade at Fox News before he was ousted in 2017 over allegations of sexual harassment, also took aim at Fox on his afternoon show. Alleging the network “ditched the Tories,” Bolling blasted that “you’ll see hypocrisy everywhere” when you turn on Fox News.

After criticizing Fox for calling “too enthusiastically” to Biden and Wallace’s election for his treatment of Trump in the 2020 presidential debate, Bolling went on to challenge Fox’s strict vaccine policy.

“Fox’s hosts are raging against vaccination warrants, but they work for a company that requires their employees to get vaccinated or get tested,” Bolling scolded. “Their shows revolve around that. While their evening shows are anti-warrant, you light up the day and see Neil Cavuto saying the exact opposite.

Bolling then released a clip of Cavuto, who is immunocompromised and recently contracted COVID-19, crediting the vaccines for his mild diagnosis while begging viewers to get the shot.

“I dare say, people who are going through this and have seen loved ones who were touched by it or died from it do not judge the wisdom of the Mandates. They wish they had been vaccinated and they did not. Don’t let that happen, ”the veteran Fox News anchor said on Sunday.

“Not so sure about that, Neil,” Bolling sneered. (Dick Farrel, a former Newsmax anti-vaccine host who died of COVID-19, urged his friends to get vaccinated on his deathbed.)

“Think about what Fox is doing, though. It’s awesome,” Bolling added. “Everything they really believe gets aired in the middle of the day when everyone’s at work. Then people come home from work. and watch the evening commentators say the opposite of what they reported a few hours before. ”
