ZONA Technology, Inc. technology will be part of Siemens Simcenter software portfolio, enabling the creation of a single digital thread of end-to-end airframe structure design analysis and certification, starting with early concept studies, through aero-structural optimization high fidelity and up to structural certification and documentation. The combination of ZONA Technology, Inc.’s high-fidelity aeroelastic methods and industry-leading Simcenter simulation can reduce reliance on third-party aeroelasticity tools and replace disjoint workflows for analysis, simulation, and cell verification.

“The aerospace industry faces unprecedented technological challenges as it pursues the complexity of climate-neutral aviation and the renaissance of supersonic travel,” said Jean-Claude Ercolanelli, Senior Vice President, Simulation Solutions and test, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Adding the capabilities of ZONA Technology, Inc. to the Xcelerator portfolio will help help our customers go further in their digital transformation and reinforce Siemens’ efforts to create a comprehensive, state-of-the-art workflow for design and certification. of the end-to-end cell structure. to the aerospace industry.”

“We are excited to join Siemens Digital Industries Software and bring our expertise and aeroelastic simulation technology to enhance the digital thread of aircraft structures and airframe design,” said PC Chen, CEO, ZONA technologyInc. “A seamless digital connection between flight physics and structural departments can reduce the number of iterations and speed airframe structural certification for airlines striving to launch new aircraft programs innovative on time and on budget.”

Situated at Scottsdale-Arizona, ZONA Technology, Inc. has been serving the aerospace community with commercial software since 1988, with a primary focus on aeroelastic simulation technology that helps predict flight loads and flutter behavior. It is used by some of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of calendar year 2022. Terms were not disclosed. Learn more about what this acquisition means for the aerospace industry on our blog here.
