Ted Cruz’s ‘The View’ interview interrupted by protesters

On October 23, Cruz appeared for an interview on the ABC show to promote his new book. At one point during filming, the show’s panelists grilled the senator on the upcoming midterm elections when some live audience members began chanting, “Cover the weather now!” »

Cruz continued to speak over the shouting, but a woman apparently shouted, “Fuck you, Ted Cruz!” Moderator Whoopi Goldberg then had to interrupt and address the protesters. “Ladies, ladies! Excuse us! Let’s do our job. We hear what you have to say, but you have to go! You have to go, you have to let us do our job,” she shouted back.

The show was later turned into a commercial. However, when the shooting resumed, demonstrators resumed shouting slogans. Panelist Sunny Hostin then said, “They’re accusing us of not covering climate change, and co-panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin added, ‘They weren’t even protesting you. Cruz, however, remained on the show and finished his interview.

Statement from “The View” spokesperson

A spokesperson for the show has now issued a statement which reads: “Three members of the public interrupted The View today during an appearance by Senator Ted Cruz to protest the climate. They were quickly escorted out by security.

After filming resumed, co-host Ana Navarro apologized to the senator and said, “I was very vocal and critical of you, but I’m sorry this happened in our house.” After the situation normalized, Cruz had a heated debate with Griffin about the Capitol Riots in January 2021.

The senator has yet to comment on the matter, but retweeted a video posted by Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs that read, “Liberals preach ‘tolerance’ but are the least tolerant in America.” After filming, Cruz shared a clip from the program and wrote, “It’s Halloween, so @TheView has invited the scariest guest he could think of.

The senator faced a similar situation during the Yankees game on Sunday

Ted Cruz faced public outrage twice in two days. On Sunday, he attended a playoff game at Yankee Stadium, where spectators began to boo him and even knocked him down as he moved around his seat.

As soon as he stood up, fans started shouting slogans like “f***ing loser” and a “racist piece of s***”. The senator, however, kept his cool during the game and did not react to the slogans.

On Monday morning, Cruz revealed his reaction to the situation and said he had no hard feelings towards Yankees fans. “It was an awesome game – it was spectacular. And I enjoyed the great hospitality in New York,” he added.
